How EUROVIA is evolving the business through the use of technology

Digital transformation is the use of 3rd platform technologies to create value and competitive advantage through new offerings, new business models, and new relationships. Becoming a digital business means enabling worker productivity through tools such as mobile, data access and AI-assisted processes and the ability to better manage business performance through data availability and visibility.

Digitalization is not only about technologies, it is also about organization, processes and people. Digitalizing a company is about changing its behaviors and providing a renewed purpose and identity aligned with these behaviors for the long run.

Based on our experience, we identified different key success factors to enable a long lasting digital change from a ways of working point of view:

Mobile Technology
The world is mobile, and enterprises have no choice but to adapt to workers’ and consumers’ habits. In the past, organizations shied away from integrating mobile technology because of the complex integration required with so many legacy processes and systems. Today, with more organizations now focused on digital transformation, it’s time to leverage mobile as an integrated part of business strategy.
How EUROVIA uses mobile technology more precisely: Employee working hours records (Administration and in the field employees).

Public and Private Cloud
IDC reports that organizations are shifting to a “cloud-first” strategy for updating/replacing traditional systems and to “cloud only” when developing their next-generation competitive advantage systems and services, so it makes sense that most organizations already have public and private cloud in place. As organizations add digital-first technologies, public and private cloud will play a central role.

Real-time collaboration. By using cloud-based technology, all team members can access real-time project information, when and where they need it. All departments that are involved in a project — from HR (employee onboarding), finance (budgeting), IT, project management, and more — have the same real-time information.

Internet of Things
Numerous corporations and start-ups have entered the concept of the Internet of Things to take advantage of any business opportunity. Internet of Things (IoT) devices have a huge impact on the way companies do business. IoT devices collect large amounts of data, and companies have access to this data to track and record consumer behavior to make profitable decisions.

How EUROVIA uses IoT:
• Tracing the location of construction machinery and who drives it
• With the help of softwares for the evidence of working hours we can easily see the engineers / architects in which construction site they are located
• New and improved safety controls for people working in hazardous environments

This digital transformation has enabled a renewed focus in the industry on what’s most important – high-quality work, safely done. Due in part to these technologies, we are becoming better professionals, bringing more value to our customers: “on time and within budget”.

This new focus on quality and safety, though, doesn’t come alone. Here are five benefits we’ve witnessed from digital transformation:

• Improved productivity
• Safer operations
• Higher accuracy
• Better communication
• More innovation
